It was a rainy day. We didn’t feel up to much, so we just hung out together chatting. Jordan facetimed in the morning, so I said hi to her and met Nicky (at least virtually). They’re in Venice.
Then for exercise, we moved to the living room and watched TV.
Kirstie's (actually Addie's) cats puddle around the house.
Paul found the movie that Dad had a bit part in and we watched that The Battle of V-1. He played a nazi radio operator. “Achtung! Achtung!”.
His head looks weirdly stretched-- but I didn't notice distortion in the rest of the film.
Paul wrapped up the embroidery in cardboard for me to carry on the plane. Postage was going to cost several hundred dollars, so I’ll pay for extra luggage instead.
Kirstie found a few other odds and ends— my first teddy bear, my set of Olympic coins that Connie gave us, some prints and some old D&D miniatures, so I’ll add them to the luggage.
She found some of my mum's dad's medals.
I remember mum talking about her dad's football medals, but these aren't they-- they're Masonic. So I thought they could stay here. But if Alistair is interested in one, I'll get it. I'm not sure we need symbols of anti catholic bigotry about. Maybe they did other stuff?
It cleared up late afternoon.
We went to Paul’s favourite wings place and ate chicken wings and had some lovely beer — Creemore Springs, an old favourite. I had hot & honey, and we also split some GarPar— roasted garlic and parmesan. Back to salad this week… Louise, an old friend of Kirstie’s joined us.
✅ Eat chicken wings
✅ Drink Creemore
There was a ridiculous Olde English Shoppe near the pub, where you could by all sorts of english, scots, irish and welsh stuff. They had food too, so K and I saw some of the lollies our granny used to send us for Christmas,
They dropped me at Adriana’s around 8pm. I was in bed by 9:30.
Looking a fares, I think i’ll go to Newfoundland next week, rather than this week. Fares are half, and there’s just been a hurricane on the east coast.
