Sunrise in St. John's
We woke up early and I took lots of pictures as the sun rose over the harbour. The view from Chris' work room is wonderful.
Breakfast in the lovely kitchen.
The morning light is wonderful in his house.
After breakfast we went up Signal Hill and walked around. It's where Marconi's first transatlantic radio message was received. It was a Morse code "S". For sunrise maybe.
Cabot Tower
Lots of great views. St John's stretched out.
There are barracks where soldiers manned guns to defend the narrows and the settlement during the napoleonic war.
Cannons from the 1700's. The battery was used later to defend against U-boats.
St John's is all about hills and stairs.
Chris had to work for most of the day, so I went out for a nice salad then came back to update my blog.
More hills and stairs and lovely coloured houses.
I'm at the airport now. Time for snacks.
